Please join us for an exhibition of Ek Khaale – Once Upon A Time at Exhibition Hall at BRAC University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The exhibition will run from August 17-28th.
After the genocide against the Rohingya in 2017, Bangladesh became the temporary home for nearly 1 million people from the Rohingya community. This exhibition is an important opportunity for this project to not only engage with the Rohingya community but also to reach audiences in Bangladesh (policy makers, UN Agencies, International NGOs, etc) who play an important role in the future of the Rohingya. The project Ek Khaale and this exhibition about Rohingya heritage, belonging and community hope to challenge narratives and facilitate in creating a space of shared memory, identity and history. It hopes to present something totally new to the way people see, understand and share solidarity with the Rohingya community, especially at this important time. This exhibition is being held in collaboration with the Centre for Peace & Justice at BRAC University
The exhibition in Dhaka will also feature a commissioned installation of photographs from three members of the Rohingya-led photo collective, Rohingyatographer.
