The Knowledge for Democracy Myanmar (K4DM) initiative is supporting Parami University’s efforts to invest in sustainable education for 12 Rohingya students.

Parami University provides for the students tuition and are now fundraising for their daily stipend. K4DM will be matching each dollar donated to double the impact and support for the students. Parami University aims to raise $21,600 to provide a year of essential living stipends for their twelve students. This amount ensures that each student receives $150 per month for the next 12 months. This amount is the minimum required to keep them enrolled and focused on their studies.
How Your Donation Makes a Difference

$100 – Covers emergency medical expenses for a student living in harsh conditions
$150 – Supports one student’s living expenses for a month, ensuring they have food and basic necessities

K4DM has been partnering with Parami University and a Myanmar non-governmental organisation to assist the Rohingya students in their transition to higher education with a university preparation programme. The programme improved students’ English and mathematical skills, enabled access and training on computer usage and set-ups for online interviews and classes. Upon acceptance to the university, students have a follow-up programme that includes mentorship, monthly counselling, and additional support to fill knowledge gaps.
