In the spirit of advancing women’s participation in politics in Myanmar EMReF seeks to generate evidence on political parties’ recruitment and selection methods for women. By highlighting socio-cultural norms and attitudes towards women’s political participation at the party, household and community levels and inform how norms and attitudes affect women’s actual political participation in Myanmar. Finally, through capacity building exercises, this project strengthens the analytical skills of Myanmar-based researchers in key areas including gender analysis, through collaboration between EMREF and McMaster University.
